Picking Blueberries & Black Raspberries

Since it was a low humidty day..I decided that we would head over to Spencer Farms today to pick some blueberries and black raspberries. Emily REALLY enjoyed picking the blueberries. She enjoyed the challenge of finding the very blue ones and did a good job doing it. I didn't get any pics of her picking the black raspberries because they really aren't kid friendly picking. They have really prickly thorns and they were messy if you didn't pick them right. So she really didn't last long doing those. We hope to stop back by next week when the blueberries are plentiful for more picking.........

Freedom Festival Fireworks

We decided after Dallas' party that we would head over to the Freedom Festival for awhile in Fishers. I haven't been there in probably over 15 years when we lived in Fishers! We had our chairs and blanket in the car just incase we stayed for fireworks but since Emily really didn't have a nap today other than the 20 minutes in the car on the way to the party....we didn't expect her to make it till 10:00. But she did! She played at the park, we walked around and looked at vendors, she ate and ate, but most of all she enjoyed playing in the lawn around our blanket. It was a lovely cool evening for it..all we were missing was a playmate for Emily. Well...and maybe our cooler. Next year we will be prepared because we definitely plan on returning!

Happy 7th Birthday Dallas!!

My little ornery thing.....

Today we celebrated Dallas's 7th Birthday at The Greenfield Bowling Alley with a Star Wars Theme. He and Luke actually share the exact same Birthday but they had their parties on different days so everyone can do both boys events. This was the first time Emily has ever been bowling. She has watched others from her stroller when she was younger but obviously wasn't old enough to participate. She really seemed to enjoy it!

Dallas got alot of cool Star Wars toys (imagine that) but I never get good pics of him. He is not and never has been to into the camera thing. We were also pleasantly surprised at how good the bowling alley pizza was.....

Happy Birthday Dallas....we'll never forget the 4th of July that your Momma got to bring you home after you gave us such a scare with your birth!!! We Love You!!!! May The Force Be With You........:-)

Happy 9th Birthday Luke!

Happy 9th Birthday to the cutest little skateboarder around. It's hard to believe that you are 9! We had a great time grilling out at your house and celebrating your Birthday! We Love You!!

Neighborhood 4th Parade

Our neighborhood decided to do our parade a weekend early this year since the 4th actually falls on a Saturday this year. For fear that everyone may already have plans it was decided to do it a little early since the kids look forward to it every year. I have been walking in this parade since we moved here. It was actually only Daisy Mae and I in the beginning and now Emily and Daddy get to join in. The parade finishes at the pool with bomb pops and an early opening swim. What a great hot morning for it!

Hang on Emily!!

Friday afternoon Emily went to hang out over Aunt Kim's and played with Lily while Mommy went and got her patriotic nails done. She was very excited to see that Kim and Stephanie had put the baby pools up for the Summer. After my nails we headed home and picked Daddy up and went back to Kim's and grilled out so she could swim with them since I wasn't prepared with her bathing suit and stuff and was a nice hot evening.....

It was very hot outside today and the girls weren't as eager to stay outside in the afternoon. That was okay with me! 30 minutes at a time in the heat isn't a bad idea. They came in and patiently waited for me to re-fill the sippys. In the meantime I caught them making silly faces..so I had to get a few shots!

Time for Gifts

Emily received many cool gifts. Graco highchair, twin stroller, 2 new babies (one was a baby that swims in water), hooded bath towels with her name embroidered (cookie monster & monkey), Dora bathtub mermaid doll, pink wiffle t-ball set, playdoh kitchen set kit, dress up shoes, etc....

Her big gift was her pink mustang that she had been waiting for. She has wanted a power wheels for awhile now but I think she might be ready at this age. Notice..it doesn't say Barbie on the car it says Emily! Too funny Daddy! Thank You VERY much Papaw Jeff & Mamaw Fleta for helping us pay for this large gift. She will get lots of play out of it in the upcoming years!
