Yum Yum's for the Bunny

Since tomorrow is Easter, its time to put out the basket and leave the bunny his traditional carrots and ranch dip for a snack. But Emily also decided to throw him in a sugar cookie :)

Clay Terrace Egghunt

While Daddy went to work for part of the day, we decided to head over to Clay Terrace and participate in their egghunt. Unfortunately, it was kind of un-organized. They werent prepared for as many people that came and it didnt start on time. Plus they put a cap on the eggs you could get..5-10 depending on age and age groups werent seperated (YIKES)!. Thats ok..we took a walk afterwards and enjoyed the pretty morning and talked about the real meaning of Easter and our many blessings...Today is also Papaw Lou's Birthday and he is still sadly missed...but never forgotten :(

A Night in with Friends

We invited the Ranek kiddos over for a fun night in of ordering pizzas, making Bunny Bait, and watching Peter Cottontail. I wanted their Momma & Daddy to have a night out to themselves before she has her knee surgery on Tuesday. We had a fun night with them! Emily loves having friends over...and we def dont mind a house full from time to time :)

Cherries Jubilee Smoothies

Today Emily wanted to go to Steak & Shake for a shake. We compromised on one of my all time favorite smoothies when I noticed that I had all of the ingredients including some frozen cherries left over from Spencer Farms lastyear. Although we will be needing to get more...

 I just thought we would share our favorite semi tart treat .
3/4 cup tart cherry juice
1 tbsp honey
1/2cup milk
1 cup cherries (stemmed pitted chopped)
1 cup non-fat vanilla frozen yogurt
1/2tsp vanilla extract
*optional* Chia seeds

Blend all together in blender

Evening out with Mamaw

Since Mommy had an appointment to get her hair done, it was a great opportunity for Emily to spend the evening out with Mamaw. They went to see the Easter Bunny at the Mall, Build a Bear, and to meet up with Mamaw's friend Sharon for a mexican dinner. Thanks Mom for taking Emily out for a fun evening!

West Park Egghunt

Another year of a fun Easter egghunt at West Park! It was a bit chilly but Emily didnt mind. Any time there are eggs and candy to be had....she is totally game! We followed it up with our annual Brunch afterwards at Cracker Barrel. Emily is actually eating scrambled eggs now so it was nice to see her eat a full plate of eggs, bacon, tators, and a biscuit. Then home for an out of the norm 3 hour naps for all :) GREAT FAMILY DAY!!!

First Sleepover at a Friends

Emily had her first sleepover tonight at one of her best pal gal Fallyn's house. They rented redbox movies, had popcorn late, and even made special Easter cupcakes the next day. She was barely home 10 minutes and took an hour nap. So excited that she had fun but a little sad that they are that old now!

The Letter "Q"

For Show and tell day at school today for the letter of the week "Q"....I allowed Emily to take her special quilt that was made for us after my babyshower. All of the squares were done by family and friends at my babyshower. Then my cousin Mandy took the squares and had the quilt made. What a special show and tell for Emily!!

Mommy's Birthday

Another year older! HAHA! Daddy actually had to work all day but I took advantage of hanging out in jammies on the couch finishing up a book on my kindle and starting a new one. I vowed to not clean or wash anything during "my" day. Then around 4:00 Daddy came in with a handful of flowers, drinks, Woodhouse Spa giftcard, and Maple Bacon & Margarita cupcakes. Emily had also picked her own gift out for me...a coconut bay candle. Because she said I love coconut! Thats my girl! Then we showered and headed to Cooper's Hawk Winery for our first but def not last visit. We had an awesome meal and well....awesome pitcher of peach sangria too! Thanks Mom & Jeff for joining us and all that you do :)

Recital Costumes are In!!

Breakfast with a Buddy

Emily's class was invited to bring a buddy to class for breakfast. It could be Mom, Dad, Grandparent, etc. So I went with Emily since Daddy started a new building at work and couldnt come in late today. We had bagels and donuts and stayed around to watch them do circle time! It was great seeing them in action with their morning curriculum. Fallyn just happened to be the special person of the week :)
